What does McCain mean by "suspending"?

Warning: Liberal

Yglesias asks exactly what I've been wondering. Also, people keep saying McCain is "suspending his campaign," but doesn't that mean something completely different? Isn't that what Romney and Edwards, among others, did? Isn't he "suspending campaigning"?

we're suspicious... I think that he's worried he'll run out of cash and is doing this not for the whole economy vote, but to save $$. cause "suspending his campaign" has a completely different ring than "suspending campaigning." he's even supposedly pulling ads off the air. he's trying to save money.

i'm trying to avoid this for a while b/c the whole thing gave me a huge headache but i believe I heard something on pbs about mismanagement and this was the first big budget he had and that he's running out of money. but please, don't quote me on that.

I think it's something I heard on TV yesterday. If they have to cancel a debate they are most likely to cancel the Vice-Presidential one and that would get that hateful woman off the hook.

I think that he just needed an excuse to get out of a debate he was not prepared for.
