Booking Through Thursday: Sunshine and Roses

Jumping on the bandwagon

Chappysmom let me know that the book meme I posted earlier in the week was actually made up of questions from her Booking Through Thursday weekly meme. I hadn't realized that and therefore neglected to give credit. Sorry! Today's Booking Through Thursday:

Imagine that everything is going just swimmingly. The sun is shining, the birds are singing, and all’s right with the world. You’re practically bouncing from health and have money in your pocket. The kids are playing and laughing, the puppy is chewing in the cutest possible manner on an officially-sanctioned chew toy, and in between moments of laughter for pure joy, you pick up a book to read . . .
What is it?

This was designed as the opposite of the previous question about what you'd read when everything was going wrong, but my answer is pretty similar. L.M. Montgomery and Jane Austen are my first impulses when I'd happy or sad, it seems. To this one, I'd add pretty much anything by Meg Cabot, or a really good mystery.

The answers to this one are interesting--the difference, and similarities!, to what people like to read when they're down are fascinating. Which reminds me, I really need to get my own answer up . . .

This was a tough question for me!! I can usually read just about anything, but I do get "moody" with books. Certain serious books and non-fiction are harder for me to get into unless I'm in the right frame of mind!

Happy Thursday!

Hi honey, I was just reading your blog and realized:
1. I did prety well guessing your answers--of course Pride and Prejudice and Anne of Green Gables.
2. I don't know what does meme stands for.
XOXO,
Mom

I picked Anne for my comfort reading; I could read those books a million times and never get tired of them!
I agree with you on Meg Cabot. Her books are really fun, and I can read them quickly.
