I'm going to my first-ever Pampered Chef party this weekend. Any of you regulars? What do I want to buy? The can opener is being universally recommended, it seems...

A friend of mine sent a box of food to me and it was YUMMY! There is an apple cake mix thing that is to DIE for. I loved it.

Hmm I don't have the can opener ! The corn cob holders are great if you eat corn on the cob enough - I like them because they twist in vs. having sharp points (little kids). We don't have any, I'm just sayin' Love the stoneware (I have a loaf pan & I'm getting the pizza stone from mom to do bake bread on!). Love my batter bowl (w/ lid!) I think I got the small one. The cutting board. The kids knife, another thing that doesn't apply to you I guess (although ours is missing, probably still packed somewhere random. sigh). Uhm I have a ton of smaller tools and things that I use or don't use. I'll have to look and get back to you !

I love love love the pan scrapers and the probe thermomenter.
I'm one of those dissenters who thinks you can often get just as nice items for the same or less elsewhere. Not that PC stuff isn't nice, I'm just not amazed. But it is nice to have a list of potentials when going to a party.
I have the large cookie scoop, the garlic press (wish the cleaner thing was attached instead of separate), and the sticky-stuff measuring cup. I love my cookie scoop (and it is about the same price everywhere else). I also use it for muffins and pancakes. I used to have the timer, which functioned great as a timer, but the magnet fell off and was always a bit wobbly on the fridge (but most magnetic timers seem to do that) then eventually (after like 10 years) it broke.
Well, I don't know what you (or they) call it..but here goes:
a small sized spatula.
We called it a spatula when I was a kid. Now I think you call it a pancake turner. Anyway, they have a small version and it is *fabulous* for serving cake pieces, sometimes pie (if it doesn't have a really loose filling). The smaller size just gets right into the edge of the pan and works amazingly well. The "blade" portion is about 1.5-2" x 3" or so. Check it out!
